With the introduction of the 2004 Revised Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) Part III, web sites must now be accessible to all.
If your site is not accessible you may end up in court facing a huge lawsuit. Gone are the days when web companies only needed to concentrate on the aesthetics of a site, following the act a new focus has arrived merging design concepts with empowerment for all.
Remember – having a DDA compliant site not only keeps you on the right side of the law, but also opens new channels to hundreds of potential new customers. Just ask Tesco.com who have increased online sales by £13 million a year since the launch of their DDA site.
